Sophie & Mabel

BSc Psycology : Team Mabel

From a young age, I have been aware of the positive impact that the company of dogs can promote on our lives. Inspired by our family alsatian, a 6-year old we rescued during covid who was extremely dog reactive, I realised the enjoyment that can come from dedicating time and energy into training dogs. It has proven to be a great application for both my psychology degree and my love for canine companions. I now have met my own soul-pup, a hilarious Dachshund called Mabel, who I am training to be a therapy dog to continue fostering my love of psychology and animals.

BSc Psycology : Team DeZeal

Hello, nice to meet you! Yes, you with the tail and four legs! I just want to let you know that I'm not  just any dog lover. I am a dog person. I am the kind of person who stops to pet every dog I see on the street, much to the annoyance of their owners. I am the kind of person who knows all the neighbourhood dogs by name and probably knows their favourite spot for a good scratch. I am the kind of person who has more pictures of dogs on my phone than my own family. So, you see, this is not just a job for me. Its a calling.

Fraser

Team Kano

Hello, I’m Fraser of Team Kano.

Growing up on a farm, I developed a lifelong passion for animals, especially dogs, which laid the foundation for my journey into canine behaviour and training. My hands-on experience in dog shelters taught me to work with dogs of all breeds and temperaments, reinforcing my understanding of their unique needs. I hold a BSc in Psychology and am currently pursuing an MSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare to deepen my expertise.

At Top Tails Dogs, I combine academic knowledge with the Top Tails Method, which focuses on structured activities, positive reinforcement, and clear communication to help dogs and their humans find their place within their “pack.” By creating tailored, science-backed training plans, I aim to foster trust and harmony between dogs and their families.

Whether working to reduce reactivity, improve obedience, or address behavioural challenges, my approach ensures that both dogs and their owners feel confident and connected. Together, we create a happy, balanced environment where dogs thrive as valued members of their families.

Official Boarder

Hi my name is kirsten

I have always had an interest in working with animals, I have a great dane called Susan Boyle who I have trained since she came home at 12 weeks old. I trained her myself from November to January 2022-2023 then I got Brian at TopTails to help continue her training. She is now just over a year old and is now in training to be a therapy pet. Brian has seen how much effort I put into Susan's training so he invited me to join the Top Tails team as a trainer. The methods Top Tails use are guaranteed to work if consistently used and using positive reinforcement. In the future I would like to learn more on dog behavior and I'm very excited to be a part of the Top Tails team.

I have a lifelong passion for all kinds of pets, and I've cared for many, including lizards, chickens, parrots, cats, and dogs. Recently, I've embarked on an exciting journey into dog training. Seeing people struggle to communicate with their dogs breaks my heart, and I want to help.

My mission is to strengthen the bond between dogs and their owners through effective training. I've completed a one-day course in canine body language and a four-day practical instruction course, and I'm eager to continue learning and gaining experience.

Join me as I work to create a world where every dog and owner can enjoy a happy, harmonious life together.

Caitlin

Team Bramble

Hello, I’m Caitlin! I have loved animals since I was a child and have always been drawn to nature. I am currently studying a BSc in Ecology and Conservation in the hopes of continuing on to a Masters degree in Human Animal Interaction. I have a huge interest in wolves and have spent time in Spain interning at a scientific research center for wolves. During my time here I learned a lot about applying wolf pack dynamics to dog training. I have an SVQ qualification in Social Services (children and young people) and I would love to learn more about therapy dog training to work closely with vulnerable people. I was very excited to cross paths with Brian and find out he uses the same training techniques that I’d been hoping to learn and I am very happy to be a part of the Top Tails team!

Jamie

Team Lewis

Hello! My name is Jamie. My background is in Pharmaceuticals.

As far back as I can remember , our family home has always included a couple of four legged friends at a time - usually comprising of one cat and one dog at any one time. I have found having dogs, in particular, to be an excellent motivation to a healthy lifestyle both physically.

Our family has known Brian for many years and our paths crossed again when my parents were having difficulty with Lewis’s ways as a pup. Lewis is a little older and wiser now but always has been a loving gentle dog (if not a little headstrong!) and loves attention from adults and children alike. He has come a long way in his journey to better abidance with the help of Brian along with patience and determination.

I am happy to be a part of TOPTAILS dogs after learning of the excellent work that Brian’s been doing. For example, visiting nursing homes and vulnerable people with additional needs using pet therapy.

Trainee Behaviourist

Hi, I'm Ryan! I'm 16 years old and live in Dunblane, where I attend Dunblane High School.

I recently earned my K9 First Aid certification after completing the course at Lecropt Church Hall in Bridge of Allan. Since then, I’ve been working closely with Monet and Pablo, assisting Brian during training and cynophobia sessions.

Being part of the Top Tails team has given me invaluable experience in canine care, training, and behaviour. I love working with dogs and look forward to continuing my development as a trainee behaviourist while providing professional dog walking and boarding services alongside my family.

Alex

Team Luna

Hello, my name is Alex Hyde. From a young age, I have always loved dogs from my little childhood dog I grew up with to now owning my German shepherd mix husky Luna. The journey of training her has been some of the best days of my life, from training her to sit to now being able to walk fully off the leash with good recall. Top tails helped make this journey as plain sailing as possible and now to have the opportunity to be a part of the team and be able to help other people and their doggies is a dream come true.

Team Luna

Dog Handler

Hi, I’m Brooke. My favorite thing to do is meet new dogs and learn everything about them!

I was always unsure about dogs from a young age, however, my 4-legged furry daughter (Luna) made me realise that dogs are amazing! They are such smart creatures, and need guidance to help them learn what is right and wrong.

That is what we do at TopTails! We provide support to owners and doggies who need it. No matter how big or small the training needed. We are here!
